           Yerevan, the capital of Armenia and its largest city, located on the banks of the Hrazdan river, is enchanting with its vast plains and wonderful nature.
It is a destination for millions of tourists every year who want to discover the charm and beauty of Armenia. Yerevan is an active lively nightlife city, and it is among the 10 safest cities in the world. In Yerevan, there is a large number of various distinctive hotels, restaurants, cafes, tourist attracitons and unique archaeologycal sites. Its distinctive position, being in mountainous area and its natural and charming beauty are among its most important factors of tourist attraction. It is located at the foot of Mount Ararat, which has a large historical value.


         Yerevan has a large number of important historical and archaeological landmarks and tourist attraction that attract tourist every year. The most important of which is the historical fortness of Erebuni, which was built on the hill and was the basis of existence of the city of Yerevan. The city also conjoins a number of old churches such as the Katoghike Church, one of the oldest churches in the city, built in 591 AD, in addition to the church of Zoravor Astvatsatsin that is among the oldest church too, as well as Sarkis Cathedral. In Yerevan, there is the Blue Mosque, built in 1764, the first and oldest the only mosque in the city. The Armenian capital contains some other monumenys, including the Opera House, the Yerevan Cascade, a giant stairway descending from Tamanyan Street, Yerevan artifical lake that opened its door in 1939, Swan lake, which becomes a breathtakin landscape with snow in winter. There are also the New Opera Theater, Moscow cinema, Mother Armenia Monument and David Sassoon Monument.


       Yerevan has a collection of unique museums as well, including the Armenian national gallery, the largest musium in the country visited every year by about 65,000 visitors.. It contains Russian and European art exhibits and Armenian artworks. Also, there is the Armenian History Museum with exhibits of Armenian history throughtout the ages, the Cafesjian Museum of Art, Erebuni museum that contains collectibless found in the Erebuni fort, the Charents museum of literature and arts, and many others. There are also many ancient libraries in Yerevan, such as the Matenadaran library with its ancient manuscripts that are rare manuscripts frpm the middle Ages, the Avetik Isahakyan centrual library, Republican library of midical sciences and many libraries distributed in the city. That is why Yerevan was named in 2011; the capital of global libraries, as it contains rich libraries, offering a variety of services to students across the world.


   The capital city, Yerevan conjoins other several unique attractions that amuse and entertain its visitors including the Yerevan Zoo with 1,500 species of animals, the Yerevan circus, which offers exciting show, the Lovers park, the victory botanical garden. In the city of water in Yerevan, tourists can enjoy distinctive water sports and games in the closed halls and ice skating rinks. They can also strolling in the Northern street, where they can find cafes, restaurants and shops. Besides, there are many markets and shopping centers, such as Russian centre for Shopping, Parvan malls and Dalma Garden mall.



   The Zvartnots International Airport in Yerevan is the main airport in Armenia, which receives international and domestic flights. In addition, there is a modern transportation networks in the city, varied between buses, taxis, underground and trains, connecting the capital with other cities and facilitating the movement of visitors inside and outside the city.
